After Effects Colour and Glow Tutorial
1. Open a project in after effects with the video already seperated and placed in scene
2. Select the video layer and go to Effect - Color Balance (or any other settings. For the Moon I have used change to color which just works a bit better in that instance.)
3. Edit the setting for required effect. In the case of the lion this is extremely easy
4. Reselect video layer and go to Layer - Layer Styles - Outer Glow
5. Adjust the levels here for required effect. The settings are fairly self explanatory. Aside from the obvious colour difference the only differences between the moons glow and the lions is the level of noise and the size, although this varies from scene to scene anyway. When the required effect has been achieved go to Animation - Save Animation Preset. You can do this for both the colour correction and the glow simply by selecting them before you click save.
6. Save in the user presets folder.
7. When you need to apply the same effects to a different video clip simply select the video clip.
8. Drag the effects from the effects and presets window on the right onto the clip which will be highlighted when you are hovering over it correctly.
This tutorial is more for documentation than actual tutoring as obviously now that the presets are on my computer it would be foolish to spread this job out across multiple machines.
